The addition CMAT for admission to management programmes in the academic year 2013 -14 will be conducted in a four day window from May 19 to May 22, AICTE has announced.
According to the AICTE notification, “Only those candidates who could not avail two opportunities for appearing in CMAT during the year 2013 – 2014, would be allowed to appear in the CMAT (Additional Test) scheduled in 57 cities from 19th May to 22nd May, 2013.”
The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission to the academic session 2013-15 was conducted twice i.e. in September-October, 2012 & February, 2013. It was announced that students can appear in both the test however, better of the two scores will be used for admission.
Dr S S Mantha, chairman of the AICTE, in a free-flowing interview with MBAUniverse.com few days earlier, said “The May CMAT will be an opportunity for those who could not appear for either September 2012 CMAT test or February 2013 CMAT test,”.
He further added, “Some of the states had accepted CMAT scores lately and could not notify it before the February CMAT. The May CMAT will help students from Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and a few other states that have only recently come under the AICTE umbrella to be eligible for the admission in 2013-14.”
It is to be noted that 12 states which have agreed to accept CMAT scores for admission for academic year 2013-14 for all management programs includes Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Nagaland, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka and Jharkhand.
As per CMAT policy, the candidates can make maximum two attempts in CMAT for admissions for a given academic year and better of the two scores are used for admission.
The details of May 2013 CMAT exam are as follows:
Registration Start date: March 10, 2013
Registration End date: April 10, 2013
Admit Card download start date: May 3, 2013
CMAT 2013-14 Exam Window: May 19 – May 22, 2013
CMAT Result declaration: June 1, 2013
Print out of Score Cards: From June 01, 2013 to July 01, 2013
AICTE has also requested state governments to release press notifications regarding admission procedure being followed by the State and adequate publicity for CMAT May, 2013 test schedule for the awareness and benefit of the students. The admission will be completed by the admission authorities based on better of the two scores announced for the examinations conducted in September – October, 2012, February, 2013 & May 2013 for allotment of students for 2013 – 15 academic session.
All those students who failed to register for February CMAT can now register themselves for the May CMAT and can get admission opportunities this year.
The result of CMAT February is going to be declared on June 1, 2013.
